CAIRO - 16 August 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty met Sunday with Fahad Al-Dossari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), to discuss enhancing cooperation and supporting Egyptian companies operating across the continent.

Abdelatty, who serves as Egypt’s Governor to BADEA, highlighted the bank’s role as a cornerstone of Arab-African cooperation, stressing the importance of transitioning previous discussions into actionable implementation paths, particularly in infrastructure and sustainable development projects.

The minister noted that African development remains a core priority of Egyptian foreign policy, expressing Egypt's expectation to expand BADEA's contributions to Egyptian developmental initiatives, continental infrastructure funding, and technical support programs run by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD).

To support the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Abdelatty called on BADEA to collaborate with Egyptian banking institutions in trade finance, export-import funding, supply chain support, and risk-sharing guarantees to facilitate Egyptian product access to African markets.

Abdelatty also invited Al-Dossari to participate in the Africa Business Forum, scheduled to take place in El Alamein in October 2026.
