Minister of Culture: Egypt’s October Victory Has Become Twofold, a Military Triumph and a Cultural One with Dr. Khaled El-Enany’s Election as UNESCO Director-General

 

 

 Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Egypt’s Minister of Culture, extended his warmest congratulations to Egypt, the Arab world, and the African continent on the election of Dr. Khaled El-Enany as Director-General of UNESCO, marking the first time an Egyptian and Arab has ever held this prestigious international position achieved through unprecedented Arab, African, and global consensus.

 

The Minister described this remarkable milestone as a new victory for Egypt in the realms of culture and knowledge, one that adds to the nation’s long history of achievements across all fields. He emphasized that Dr. El-Enany’s win reflects Egypt’s distinguished global standing and the world’s confidence in its ability to play a leading role in advancing human civilization and cultural understanding.

 

During the Ministry of Culture’s celebration of the October War Victory at the Cairo Opera House, attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, along with several ministers, ambassadors, and performances by Mohamed Tharwat, Hany Shaker, and Mohamed El-Helw, the Minister of Culture stated:

 

“On this glorious day of victory when Egypt’s army and people wrote the most heroic chapters of honor and pride, we now celebrate another triumph added to our nation’s legacy, a victory soaring in the sky of culture and science with Dr. Khaled El-Enany’s election to this esteemed international post.”

 

He further affirmed that this achievement is a victory for the Egyptian intellect and the spirit of cultural enlightenment, a triumph that embodies Egypt’s faith in dialogue, peace, and knowledge.

 Hanno concluded by saying that October’s victory has now become two victories: the victory of arms and the victory of culture, adding that the spirit of October will forever inspire generations to confront challenges and shape the future.
