A total of 36 artifacts were recovered from the state of New York after being illegally smuggled out of Egypt. The pieces were divided into three main groups: the first includes 11 artifacts confiscated by the Office of the New York Attorney General and handed to the Egyptian Consulate in New York; the second includes 24 rare manuscripts featuring Coptic and Syriac texts; and the third is a painted limestone relief from the 18th Dynasty, returned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
