Mahmoud El Tany arrives in Egyptian cinemas today, bringing its blend of comedy, adventure, and unexpected twists to audiences after weeks of anticipation and an energetic promotional campaign.

The film marks a new collaboration between the creative team behind the successful El Hareefa film series. Producer Tarek El Ganainy reunites with writer Eiad Saleh, alongside stars Ahmed Ghozzi and Ahmed Bahr, better known as Kozbara, in a fresh comedy that builds on the chemistry and success they previously achieved together.

The story follows two men who share the same name—Mahmoud—but come from completely different worlds. A chance encounter brings them together, setting off a chain of comic misunderstandings and wild adventures that turn both of their lives upside down.

The film stars Kozbara, Ahmed Ghozzi, Caroline Azmy, Jana El Ashqar, and Tamer Hagrass. It is written by Eiad Saleh, directed by Abdel Aziz El Naggar, and produced by Tarek El Ganainy.

As part of its creative promotional campaign, the cast launched the film’s official signature dance, inspired by the song “Bayan Ham” by singer Essam Sasa. Ahmed Ghozzi and Kozbara shared a video across their social media platforms performing the dance, joined by co-stars Tamer Hagrass, Caroline Azmy, and Jana El Ashqar in a lighthearted clip that captures the fun spirit of the film.

The cast encouraged fans to recreate the dance and share their own videos on social media, making the challenge the latest promotional push surrounding the film’s release.

The dance challenge follows a series of unconventional marketing activations that generated strong engagement online. The campaign began with Ghozzi and Kozbara swapping identities across their social media accounts, creating curiosity among fans before culminating in the launch of the official dance.

With its mix of mistaken identities, fast-paced comedy, and an inventive marketing campaign, Mahmoud El Tany is now playing in cinemas across Egypt.
