CAIRO – 5 August 2026: Egypt captain Mohamed Salah arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday to complete his transfer to Turkish club Trabzonspor, drawing large crowds of supporters and widespread media attention ahead of the formal signing.

Trabzonspor shared photos of the former Liverpool forward wearing the club's jersey aboard his flight and released a video in which Salah addressed fans, saying: "Trabzon, are you ready? I can hear you. See you very soon."

Hundreds of Trabzonspor supporters gathered at Atatürk Airport carrying club flags and banners to welcome Salah, while Turkish media closely covered the arrival of one of world football's biggest stars.

The club had earlier confirmed that Salah would travel from Istanbul to Trabzon to complete the remaining transfer formalities before being officially unveiled to supporters.

The move follows the end of the Egyptian forward's nine-year spell at Liverpool, where he established himself as one of the club's greatest players, winning multiple trophies and breaking numerous records.

According to Turkish outlet HT Spor, Salah is expected to sign a two-year contract worth a reported €17 million per season, with performance-related bonuses that could reach €5 million annually.
