The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said the incident occurred about 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Kumzar, Oman.
The attack occurred approximately 15 nautical miles off Oman’s coast, causing significant damage to the vessel’s bridge but all crew members are safe, the UKMTO added.
At least two commercial vessels were forced to turn back in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday after Iranian boats opened fire, according to shipping and maritime security sources cited by Reuters.
