July 23 Revolution
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued Decree No. 301 of 2026, granting pardons for the remainder of the sentences of certain convicted inmates on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the July 23, 1952 Revolution.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, 1,214 inmates have been released by presidential pardon.
The minister noted that employers may require employees to work on the holiday if work conditions necessitate it. In such cases, employees are entitled to double their regular daily wage in addition to their normal pay, or to a compensatory day off, provided they submit a written request that is placed in their personnel file, in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Law.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly sent a congratulatory cable to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the July 23 Revolution.
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has issued a decree declaring Thursday, July 23, 2026, an official paid public holiday to mark the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution.
1,056 inmates were released on the occasion of the July 23 Revolution anniversary in line with a presidential decree in this regard, the Interior Ministry said.
“We recall an immortal scene in our nation's history that embodied the dreams and aspirations of Egyptians for development, dignity, and independence,” Sisi said in a social media post on Wednesday.
“Egypt has achieved numerous accomplishments at a time when countries collapsed, entities disintegrated, and crises intensified,” the president said in a video statement.
Those are eligible for release in accordance with presidential pardon terms.
President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received Sunday cables from UAE counterpart Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

This comes within the plan of the Museums Sector of the Supreme Council of Antiquities to engage visitors with the countless national events.
Some of those who are released thanked President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi for pardoning them, voicing their their happinesses as they will reunited with their families to start a new life.
El-Hanager Cultural Forum will be held under the title "July 23 - A Look at History".
The celebratory concert will be performed by the Arab Music Troupe, with the participation of the Opera’s Children Choir.
The symposium comes to celebrate the anniversary of Egypt’s July 23 Revolution.
Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli issued a decision designating Saturday 23 July as a paid holiday for civil servants as well as for employees at the private and public business sectors.
