“The Houthi militias targeted densely populated neighborhoods in the city of Marib with three ballistic missiles,” the army added.
The ministry issued a statement following reports circulated by several media outlets and social media platforms claiming that the address of the company operating the targeted vessel is located in Alexandria, Egypt.
Egypt expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed categorical rejection of all acts undermining the security and stability in the region or threatening global trade flow.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said he has not yet decided whether to escalate military action against Tehran.
The group said it fired a barrage of cruise missiles and drones targeting “several vital and military [Israeli] sites” in the southern occupied Palestinian territories.
“We affirm that our military operations target the Israeli and American enemy to thwart the Zionist scheme and do not target any Muslim people,” he added.
Egypt described the deal as “a ray of hope” for unifying the Yemenis ranks and shaping a comprehensive national vision.
In mid-November 2025, Admiral Rabie confirmed the canal’s readiness to receive giant container ships after stability returned to the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb regions. This followed a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel in the besieged Gaza Strip.
The strike is said to have hit locations linked to the Houthi-controlled Ministry of Defense.
The operation targeted “sensitive targets” in the city, utilizing Palestine 2, a multi-tipped fragmentation missile used for the second time, and Zulfiqar missile, said the Houthis’ spokesman Yahya Saree.
This marks the second round of airstrikes in recent days. On Sunday, Israeli launched deadly strikes that targeted several targets in Sanaa, including the presidential palace and power stations, killing at least 10 people.
The Houthi channel of Al-Masirah reported that two people were killed and 5 others were wounded in Sana'a due to the Israeli aggression on the oil company station, in a preliminary toll.
The Houthis, who have launched dozens of missile and drone attacks on Israel since the outbreak of the Israeli war in Gaza in 2023, have not claimed responsibility as of the time of writing.
The event will also feature a presentation by Admiral Rabie on the latest developments in canal navigation, maritime activity, and service operations. In addition, he is expected to outline the Authority’s strategic plan for the upcoming phase, amid ongoing unrest in the Red Sea stemming from the conflict between Yemen’s Houthi forces and Israel over the war in Gaza.
“The operation has successfully achieved its objective,” Houthis’ spokesman Yahya Saree announced in a video statement.
The operation comes a day after Israeli forces struck the Red Sea ports of Hudaydah and Salif in Yemen, while threatening to target Houthis' top leader Abdul Malik Al-Houthi if the Houthis continue their attacks.
The strikes follow evacuation warnings issued by the Israeli army for Houthi-controlled seaports in Yemen over the recent days, although no actual attacks occurred during this time.
“The American enemy, with its military might and brutal aggression, has failed to break this blockade,” Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree declared in a televised speech on Friday.
He urged foreign ambassadors present at the event, held in Ismailia, to communicate this positive development to their home countries and encourage the resumption of shipping traffic through the canal.
Initial reports from the Houthis indicated that at least seven people were injured in the latest Sanaa attacks.
