CAIRO – 26 September 2025: US President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order confirming that the planned sale of TikTok’s US operations to American and international investors will meet the national security requirements outlined in a 2024 law, Reuters reported.

Vice President JD Vance said the newly formed US company is expected to be valued at about $14 billion, well below estimates by some analysts for the short-video platform.

Trump also postponed until January 20 the enforcement of the law banning TikTok unless its Chinese parent company divests its U.S. assets.

The delay allows time to finalize the separation of the American business from the global platform, secure investors, and obtain approval from Beijing.
