CAIRO - 2 August 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty discussed regional developments and de-escalation efforts with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in a Sunday phone call.
The call comes as part of ongoing consultation and coordination regarding the rapidly escalating developments in the region.
The two ministers reviewed the results of diplomatic efforts aimed at pushing forward the path of de-escalation and containment.
They also discussed the repercussions of the resumption of military operations, stressing the importance of intensifying efforts to return to the negotiating path, prioritize political and diplomatic solutions, and adhere to international law to restore regional stability.
