The first phase of the project includes the development of 43 government slaughterhouses. Ministerial decisions have already been issued for 33 facilities, while the remaining 10 slaughterhouses are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. The facilities will then be converted to advanced semi-automated slaughterhouses and handed over to the respective governorates to serve citizens.
The Ministry of Agriculture announced the slaughter of 11,719 sacrificial animals at government slaughterhouses free of charge for citizens on the second day of Eid al-Adha, while continuing veterinary inspections to ensure food safety.
